Ards Rugby wants YOU!!

Ards Rugby Club - Be part of it!

Ards Rugby Club are asking you to “Be Part of It”…… a player, be a member, be a supporter, be a volunteer, be a coach, be a sponsor there's room for everyone!

Ards Rugby is a local club, a friendly club, a fun club and a club representative of the whole community with players and members coming from not just Ards town but whole the Ards Peninsula, Comber, North Down and Greater Belfast areas.

Ards Rugby are looking to the future and have ambitious plans to redevelop their existing grounds located at Hamilton Park to include a new clubhouse with male and female changing facilities, a gym, a first floor members lounge with a balcony to take in the great views of Strangford Lough and Scrabo Tower.

Ards Rugby are not only focussed on developing our clubhouse but player development is also at the forefront of Ards Rugby’s plans.

Ards Rugby Club is represented throughout the province every week by it’s 1st XV, 2nd XV, 3rd XV, it’s Youth section with U12, U14, U16 & U18 teams, it’s mini rugby section with P1-P7 teams and a development Ladies team.

All teams are coached by IRFU accredited coaches and coaches within the Youth and Mini sections have are appropriately vetted.

In a joint enterprise with Regent House School, Ards Rugby have appointed former Scotland and Northampton captain Budge Pountney to the coaching team as a Rugby Development Officer. Budge played at the highest level in the 1999 World Cup for Scotland, won the 2000 European Cup with Northampton then upon retirement in 2004 became Head Coach at Northampton and in 2005 Director of Rugby.

The aim of Ards Rugby is to invest now for the future, to re-establish Ards and Regent Rugby as dominant within Ulster Rugby, to develop the quality of young rugby player in the area which will not only benefit Ards and Regent rugby but through the outreach work other local clubs may well benefit.

Ards Rugby's Neil Workman will be co-ordinating a number of fundraising initiatives and sponsorship opportunities to support this significant investment in the future of rugby at Ards, Regent House and the local area.

Ards Rugby’s Director of Rugby Stevie Nutt is always keen to hear from anyone wanting to…..Be Part of It!
