Spirited display from combined Ards & Dromore team

Instonians Easter Monday U20s tournament:

As part of their continuing young player development program Ards Rugby combined with Dromore Rugby and entered a combined team into the annual Easter Monday Instonians U20 tournament.

These players all either played senior rugby at their respective clubs, were club Youth players or School leavers all 18 - 20 years old, making the progression into senior rugby.

Ards were in a group with Instonians, Queens and Belfast Met College.

Ards lost their first match to Queens by 3 tries to 1, they won their second match against Belfast Met by 2 tries to 1 and lost their final match to Instonians 4 tries to 2.

This was a great effort by the players from Ards and Dromore, both sets of players bonded well and showed that there is good talented rugby players beyond the so called 'big clubs'.

Special mention should go to Ards President Colin McLean in having the foresight to approach Dromore in this joint initiative.

Well done and thanks to Gordon McKeane from Instonians on another successful tournament.
