On Saturday the U16 boys combined with Civil Service to play their Belfast High School Former Pupils counterparts. The twice weekly training sessions (at Civil Service on Monday & Ards on Wednesday) are now paying dividends for the squad, with improvements in both individual and team performance culminating in a comfortable win.

On Sunday the U14 + U16 girls combined with Donaghadee to host Malone & Banbridge respectively and the U18s travelled to City of Derry . Unfortunately the U14 + U16s succumbed to their more experienced opponents. It was better news for the U18s who had a great win at Judge’s Road.

It’s great to see these players enjoying their rugby and the hard work of the players & coaches being rewarded. Well done all and keep up the good work.

Ards Rugby offers rugby for all boys and girls from U12 - U18 (Y8 - Y14) on a Wednesday evening at 7pm at Hamilton Park. You don’t have to have any rugby experience to come along and ‘Give it a try’. If we have reduced numbers at some age groups, we then combine with other local clubs who are in a similar position to give these players some meaningful game time. Last Saturday the P5 + P6 squads travelled to play CIYMS at Belmont, although it was very cold at Belmont, both squads heated things up with some sizzling rugby.

The players scored some great tries, tackled and rucked well and gave a really good account of themselves. Making the coaches feel very proud and pleased the way they played. Thanks to CIYMS for hosting us and for the post-match hotdogs.

The mini section is for both boys & girls from P1-P7. Sessions for P1-3 players end at 2pm whereas sessions for P4-7 players end at 230pm. All new players are welcome and no previous rugby experience is required.
