Our U14 team took the points before kick off with Ophir unable to field a full, eligible squad, however we were able to lend them a couple of players for each half and have an enjoyable game where the 2 Ards men playing for Ophir stole the show in the first half, scoring 4 of 5 tries against their own team, while we ran in 2 of our own. 35-10 HT.
The second half saw a change of 'loanees' who were unfortunately the slowest 2 to sit down (fairest way to choose who goes over, surely!), with the whole Ards team pulling in the same direction with the words of the coaches ringing in their ears, to use the hands, stretch the defense and play as a team. And boy did they listen! The lads who moved over to play with other had every right to be disappointed because, had they not, they surely would have had chances to score, thanks to the fantastic work from the Ards pack, delivering clean ball for the backs to run riot. Try of the day had to be for Will S, assisted by Noah B however, with Noah at Flyhalf receiving the ball on the half way line and taking it to the line, fixing the defender and delivering an inch perfect pop pass for Will coming onto it on the angle at pace, hitting the gap and running it in under the posts.

Special mentions goes to Kai S for moving from the back row to hooker today and winning EVERY scrum against the head and Kai F who slotted 100% of his conversions (even if he did kick 5 of them for the Ophir team!)
