North-Down showdown for Donaghards

Donaghards U18 v Bangor U18.

Wed evening saw the first home game for the Donaghards squad now totalling in excess of 23 players at Hamilton Park against Bangor RFC

A large crowd was treated to a superb game with Bangor winning by 36 - 12.

BRFC started sharp with an unconverted try, Donaghards responded with Charlie McCaw leading the charge resulting in the impressive Conor Price scoring a powerful try converted by Reece James Coulter.
Conor unfortunately got an injury later in the game resulting in him leaving the field of play, (everyone wishes him a speedy recovery).

BRFC a well balanced side with their classy outhalf put Donaghards under pressure with his accurate kicking and distribution resulting in 22 - 5 halftime lead.

A further pen by the Bangor outhalf resulted in a response from the home team scoring a fabulous try by the outstanding Reece Thompson.

Donaghards continued to roll the subs from the 23 man squad as player development is crucial.

BRFC scored two late tries sealing a deserved win.

James Coulter is an assured footballer, Billy Spiers, Noah Bradley, Conor Price and Luke Millar all were impressive on the night.

Reece Thompson and Peter Causby are top quality and have a bright future.

For the neutral from the North Down area what a pleasing sight to see the array of young talent on the field from the Dee / Bangor / Ards Clubs

POTM for Donaghards was the impressive McCaw. A no nonsense backrow forward who is a tough operator.

Donaghards Squad - training next Wednesday night @Dee, 6:50 meet.
