Our joint U18s took the field at Dee this morning with work and injury depleting that squad, but 14 men took to the field against a strong Malone 15. While the Ards/Dee team threatened on a number of occasions, they just couldn't breach a resolute defensive line from the 'Cregagh Red Socks' who were superbly drilled and when we lost a player to injury, Malone, as was their right, decided not to match, but to their credit reduced their number by 1, retaining a 1 man advantage. In the end, Malone deserved their victory, but the dogged Donaghards never gave up and know that these experiences will be the making of them and if they can find some more cohesiveness in their play, they have the makings of a very competent team!
