This match promised to be much more closely contested game than previous weeks and for the first quarter the 2 sides battled each other between the 22 metre lines before Quins finally broke the defence to run in an easily converted try. Ards answered back just a few minutes later when they won a lineout 5m out and Bloxhem went over in the corner for his first Ards try. Shortly after, the Quins winger went in for a try to go 14- 5 up.
Ards again worked their way into the Quins 22 with powerful runs from McIlwaine and Crawford in the centre and good ball retention from the forwards. This inspired the forwards to turn over an opposition scrum sending McAllister in for a try on the left wing. Again Quins stepped up a gear to score a penalty and a further try before the break leaving the score at 24 to 10.
The second half started as the first with Ards working tirelessly in attack and defence but as the game progressed it became evident that Quins were beginning to dominate play, as they gradually wore down the younger Ards side to run in 4 more tries.
