In the backs Roger Scott was on the wing for a rare start returning to rugby after playing football for a couple of seasons and back row Ryan Mills playing at outside centre.

The enforced changes proved costly against a well drilled Quins side.

Ards started brightly and controlled the territory and possession for the first 10 minutes.

Quins then began to dominate the breakdown and frustrated the Ards forwards with a very impressive open side a recent signing from London Irish.

Quins 1st try came on 15 minutes a well worked move along the backline enabled their winger to go over for an unconverted try.

This was followed by a cross field kick for the opposite winger to finish from a quick taken penalty.

The Ards task was made more difficult when reduced to 14 players at the start of the second half when Ryan Mills was forced to leave the pitch after a big tackle on the Quins number 8.

Many thanks from all concerned for the excellent medical attention Ryan received from the Quins doctor, Dr McComb, who looked after young Mills for over 20 minutes until transported by Matt McMullan to the hospital.

Quins upped the pressure and ran out convincing winners and were helped by some inefficient tackling.

Ards never gave up and got their reward following a great break by winger Adam Coulter down the wing Robinson crashed over for a consolation try.
