Ards 2nds welcomed Dromore to Hamilton Park in this Crawford Plate match. Ards welcomed back Pete Croan, Matt Neill and Adam Coulter back after injury and prop Jonny Millar who has been unavailable due to work commitments.

Despite having the lion's share of possession with a dominant scrum and a well functioning lineout Ards finished the first half trailing Dromore 7-0.

In the 47th minute Ards full-back Adam Coulter launched a counter attack from his own half, taking play into the Dromore half before letting the Ards forwards carry hard around the fringes with Millar and Croan prominent; Coulter regained the ball and showed his finishing skills by crossing the Dromore line which scrum half Adam Carroll converted. Dromore quickly regained the lead with a successful penalty kick after Ards were penalised for not staying on their feet. Ards 7 v Dromore 10

Dromore went further ahead after 65minutes with an unconverted try in the corner after moving the ball swiftly right to left from a scrum. Ards 7 v Dromore 15

Ards threw the proverbial kitchen sink at Dromore in an attempt to get back into the match but the Dromore defence held strong and Dromore progress into the next round of the Crawford Plate.
